findings

i have been wondering lately.

Although i’m still at my early 20s, thoughts and plans of future do sometimes cross the fickle mind of what a person really wants in mind.

At this age, we should at least have thought of what you want and what you want to have 10 years down the road, or at least 5 years from now.

This has been occurring to me of late. So plans of “wanting” more responsibility starts to find it way around the details and figures.

And after a while, you start to tell yourself that it’s quite hard to live the life you want with the current life that one is going through.

Why you asked?

jumpstart: The test of courage comes when we are in the minority. The test of tolerance comes when we are in the majority.   - Ralph W. Sockman

I’ve been busy with work lately and it’s has practically taken a toll on me. So it has hit me hard with sickness, sorry for the no updates period.

Our world now has a heavy reliance on Information Technology, and because of that most of us are computer illiterate.

ENIAC. World first digital computer.

I’m not sure i should say that i’m fortunate enough on this, but i did Informasi Teknologi as one of my subjects for SPM. Me and my classmates were the first bunch of white mice for the education ministry on this subject.

Well, it indeed gave me a headstart in the IT education system after i entered my university, but thats all to it.

Being the BolehLand, our educationist seems still to be living in the caves with Parameswara hiding under a banana tree.

You see, the Bolehland is striving for vision 2020, and to achive this, Bolehland needs lots and lots of knowledge workers to help boost this vision of reaching a developed country by that year.

And our educationist, some how got the wind to introduce Informasi Teknologi as a subject.

I applauded for our educationist for recognizing the importance of IT.

Then i spit.

The IT that i took for 2 years in my secondary school days are in Bahasa Malaysia.

WTF.

Huge potong stim man~

I have no understanding of what those cave man are trying to achieve while the whole world of IT will be in the international language of english.

I sincerely have no ill feelings towards Bahasa Malaysia and i do respect that it’s the mother touge of the Malays.

Bolehland windows98

But this is just plain ignorance and making fun out of it.

And i’m bloody sure they hired who ever that translate doreamon into Bahasa Malaysia to translate all the English IT jargon into Bahasa Malaysia.

Mother Board = papan induk
keyboard = papan kekunci
mouse = tetikus
server = pelayan
client = pelayar
network = rangkaian
joy stick = kayu ria
light pen = pen cahaya
hard disk = cakera keras
Random Access Memory (RAM) = Memori Capaian Rawak (MCR)
software = perisian

Now, try to read the above again like how doreamon’s voice is, and how he would whisk out his gadgets from his bottomless pouch.

You will laugh.

Encik Bill Banyak Pintu

Luckily, those cave men never write to Encik Bill Banyak Pintu (Mr. Bill Gates) to change Windows98 to Tingkap98.

Imagine if that would to happened and try to understand this:

If we would to muat turun perisian lanun from the Internet, there is a possibility that the aplikasi has virus (read: ve-ru-es) or barang pengintai that can occupy your memori capaian rawak.

(if we would to download pirated softwares from the Internet, there is a possibility that the application has virus or spyware that can occupy your RAM)

Then we would have to press kawal-gilir-hapus whenever we encounter a tabir biru kematian to bangkit semula our tingkap98.

(Then we would have to press ctrl-alt-del whenever we encounter a blue screen of death to boot up our windows98)

A while back, satkuru did wrote some stuff on his encounter with a policeman who found his name to be quite “unexceptable”.

kenapa tak diberi nama Johnny ke …?”

Bapa bagi ??? Bila kamu ini balik kampung nanti, pergi marah bapa. Tanya kenapa tak diberi nama macam Johnny …

Anyway, few days back, my gf forwarded me something interesting.

It was a article on bbc news again - i seem to enjoy the findings and articles by bbc, they are quite entertaining.

The article was titled “NZ judge orders ‘odd’ name change“.

Apparently, there was this small little 9 year old girl, who managed to get an injunction in a court to overrule the given name to her by her parents - which she hated with her guts.

Her name?

Talula Does The Hula From Hawaii

Notice all the capital letters of each word?

Thats her FULL name.

Which sane parents will give their child such an idiotic name??!!

Come on! The parents got to be more than dead drunk to name their child as Talula Does The Hula From Hawaii.

That name just bloody expose her to tons of teasing and embarrassment.

Just imagine the teasing she is getting.

She was so embarrassed that she refused to tell her friends her name and went simply by “K”.

Kesian betul la.

Worst if you could imagine that when she grows up and become a doctor DR. Talula Does The Hula From Hawaii.

Patients would just die of laughter instantly.

Apparently this is not the first case in NZ, there were previous names that was given by Mars-coming-parents to their earth child.

Some of the examples :

Yeah Detroit
Stallion
Twisty Poi
Keenan Got Lucy
Sex Fruit
Fat Boy
Cinderella Beauty Blossom
Fish and Chips (twins)

Sex fruits???? Fish and Chips????

It must be a crazy world down there at New ZeaLand and it seems that its a trend there to give their child bizarre names.

I’m just amazed what people can do.

Satkuru must be dam lucky his dad never name him “Nasi Lemak” or “Cicak Man Upside Down”.

This post might get me in some controversy spotlight.

But I’m quite sure that readers of my blog are mature enough to understand and digest on what i will share with you about gay and lesbian people.

Here it goes.

I was first introduced/learned about the existence of homosexual relationship when i was in primary school.

My mum used to explained stuff to me and my bro.

First was love, then it was about puppy love. Then came along homosexual and bisexual.

“It’s when man falls in love with man or when woman falls in love with woman. That’s known as homosexual.” -mama

Almost, and as far as i know, all religions practiced widely around the world kind of reject the ideas of homosexuality, some directly and some indirectly.

The reasoning is simple, gods of all faith or whatever that made us - homo sapians, created the male and the female. Two different sexualities from the same species.

Like all other beings and animals on this planet, only when a male and a female mates, then only reproduction can happen and the species lives on another generation.

And mother nature has written this rules right from the beginning of time. This fact should not even be arguable.

I have a great and simple expression for this explanation:

“Only when a pole meets the hole, then there can be a soul”

From a scientific point of view, based on those facts, i can safely come to a conclusion that homosexuality is wrong by nature and should not be accepted.

You might asked now, so why then came about the gays among us?

I used to think that it was a disability.

To tell you the truth, i could not accept the idea of homosexuality.

You can’t blame me either. It’s just because that i was taught that people from the same sex are not suppose to fall in love and definitely they can’t reproduce, hence i came up with that theory.

Now, i will agree with you based on my opinion and understanding that homosexuality was never a choice. Gay people didn’t choose to be gay, like wise a straight man never choose to be straight. It’s all hardwired in us, some hormones are stronger and maybe you just have more of certain hormones that made you who you are today.

Now, before we all get worked up and get our emotions running, i suggest you to chill off first and listen what i have to share more.

Recently, i read an article about a Swedish study on gays that was reported on bbc.co.uk, so whatever is said should have substantial credibility. And this has slightly change my point of view towards gay people.

The brains of gay men and women look like those found in heterosexual people of the opposite sex, research suggests.

Allow me to quote from the article:

“The Swedish study, published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences journal, compared the size of the brain’s halves in 90 adults. Gay men and heterosexual women had halves of a similar size, while the right side was bigger in lesbian women and heterosexual men.

A UK scientist said this was evidence sexual orientation was set in the womb. ”

“When these results were collected, it was found that lesbians and heterosexual men shared a particular “asymmetry” in their hemisphere size, while heterosexual women and gay men had no difference between the size of the different halves of their brain.

In other words, structurally, at least, the brains of gay men were more like heterosexual women, and gay women more like heterosexual men. ”

“Dr Qazi Rahman, a lecturer in cognitive biology at Queen Mary, University of London, said that he believed that these brain differences were laid down early in foetal development.

“As far as I’m concerned there is no argument any more - if you are gay, you are born gay
- Dr Qazi Rahman, lecturer in cognitive biology at Queen Mary, University of London.

Now, before i read this article, i used to believed that homosexuality is a disability. After reading this article, i questioned myself, if i would to looked at it from another perspective, this controversy disability can be seen as a difference among human beings like why my hair is black and the westerners is blond? and why i have curly hair and others have theirs straight? Why is my skin color brown and others can be black?

So after reading that article, it might not be an outright disability that just happened during the foetal development.

Physically a gay person can still reproduce, given that the mating partner is of the opposite sex.

The question is whether that person is willing to do it or not, and this should answer the mother nature and reproduction question.

So if we were to look at it scientifically, is homosexuality a form of emotional disorder? since whether or not a gay person can reproduce it’s more of a emotional decision.

You decide.

For the record, I am a 100% straight guy with a sexy girlfriend, i do plan to get married soon. So don’t you dare have the slightest idea that i’m turning gay, I’ll whack the living hell out of you.

Seriously, somebody will get hurt real bad….. somebody.

Now, I don’t know how many of you work in an office where it is big and has lots of cubicles surrounding your own mini cubicle.

Usually office like the one I am in, is quiet as hell.

Almost like I’m working in a library.

Not so quiet i think

Occasionally, you can hear someone over the distance talking nonsense or discussing work related matters.

The thing is, the place is too quiet that you can hear people walking.

When I first join the company, I was not really occupied with work, basically I was a free soul in the company told to study the business process with no dead lines given.

And I was seated near the entrance, so I have a clear view on who comes and goes.

As days and weeks passed, I don’t know if it’s just me, I started to notice each and everyone’s walking pattern.

I can describe to you how a particular manager or employee walks.

Some walk with authority, some walk like they have big balls - when they have none, literally - some even walk like zombies.

Of cos there are still a large group that has almost identical walking patterns that needs more analysis.

But since my department was moved to another floor, and things got even more quiet, I noticed I can have 1 more dimension of identifying people’s walking pattern.

You see, my new cubicle walls, they aren’t totally obstructing your view at the cubicle next to you.

These is supposing to encourage discussion and interaction among colleagues.

I no longer sit near the entrance, but i definitely sit beside the highway that leads to the pantry and a side door.

And with you working, with the cubicle walls high enough to block your view on the on going traffic and with the quiet surroundings, you tent to listen to whats happening around you.

For my case, I can identify about 50% - 60% of my colleagues that are walking passed behind me - by just listening to their footsteps and the sound they make during walking.

Mind you, our office is matted with some good quality carpet.

You will be surprise if you tune your mind slightly just to notice each individual walking pattern you can easily identify them.

The easiest are always the ladies.

piak.. piak.. piak.. piak …..

Because of their heels that they wear, it’s so easy to separate them when combined with their walking pace.

There was once that my colleague was referring to another colleague and I didn’t know his name.

So what I did was explained and slightly imitate the person’s (that I think he was referring to) walking pattern to identify the person.

And I got it right.

Sherlock Holmes, surely will have a hard time trying to challenge me.

They say I am crazy and have not enough work assigned to me.

With all the analyzing I did, there are still about 30% of people I still get confused by just listening to the walking sounds.

But what worries me is the 10%.

This is the dangerous 10%, most of them consist of my boss, my boss’s boss, my supervisors and project manager.

Basically these are the people that hardly walks over to my cubicle area.

So there is hardly any data or analyzing opportunities for me to identify their walking patterns sounds.

However, my boss walks to my area often.

But he is special.

He walks silently like the tiger behind the bushes.

When you noticed he is there, it’s already too late for anything.

Dam dangerous i tell you.

Moral of the story is that work when you’re suppose to.
