Few months back, my gf was craving for dim sum.
She had previously bugged me for quite some time to settle her dim sum urge, and so, off to SS2 we went with a few other friends.
I myself like dim sum a lot, but the problem is since i came to KL 5 years back, I haven’t ate or found any dim sum shop that is comparable to the 1 I used to eat in penang (which i think most of KL food cannot be compared at all).
Recommend me if you know 1 ! ( besides, sri petalling please. ) I heard there is a good 1 in cheras and old klang road.
Dim sum has it’s small little attraction, you will have to wait for aunties or ah po, with the tray or a push cart to come by and then you go on a shooting spree to choose what you want.
As usual, my gf is the 1 trigger happy and i’m the 1 who clears up the unfinished ones.
Like everyone else, we were sitting on the road side tables for our dim sum while enjoying the Sunday morning breeze and blue sky.
Talking about sky, do you guys notice that we have more “white skies” than blue skies? it’s always white/silver-ish. I notice this when i was trying to take some out door shots.
Anyway, back to dim sum, there we were 4 of us enjoying our dim sum, then suddenly we were hit by a wave of “visitors”.
First to came was the lottery ticket indian uncle, we weren’t interested so we shook our heads and he briefly went to the next table.
Then came a young male volunteer, asking donations for some home. Again, we weren’t interested, he tried to continue on after our rejections but after a while he left for the next table.
Less than 5 min after that, came 2 kids who speak quite good english, we did the same and off they went to the next table.
“no, thank you”
Then the champion volunteer came, i was already quite irritated with all the donation talks where they talk non stop even after we express our intentions.
So before event the guy could say a word i showed him a small hand gesture telling him i’m not interested and said “no, thank you”.
Naturally one would just walk to the next table to try his luck, law of averages will tell us the more we try the more we get, thats what every lottery ticket and DVD pusher does.
But no.
It seems that this guy was having his PMS that morning, and he freaking told me off in front of my friends and gf.
WTF.
He claimed or rather he scolded me, that he is just a volunteer and that i am being rude to him and ask me to have more respect towards him.
Look, i have no problems with volunteers or charity, but there are many ways to do charity and i really don’t like donating through this kind of channel.
1st i wont know if this guys are sincere and genuine, 2ndly, if they are genuine, the full amount wont go to what ever homes that need it.
But i hate it when i’m in the midst of enjoying my meals and these guys come over and destroy my eating ‘ZEN’.
WORST if one tells you off for not respecting him while all you did was gently waving your hand and saying “no, thank you” while he is the 1 rude for disturbing you having your peaceful meals.
I even put on a small smile for him!
I really feel like blasting back at him, but then again, no point it will just further destroy my ZEN. And so i just ignored him all the way.
Ohmmmmmmm……
He continued on teaching me on what is respect for the next 1 min and went to the next table who bloody gave him the same cold response.
Unbelievable.
Really.
